We have worked with multiple religious organizations in the greater Denver Metro area, including the Crossroads Church in Parker. Early last summer, Crossroads started a campaign called “Raise the Roof” which was focused on raising donations to expand their gathering space and literally raise the ceiling to accommodate more seating space. The campaign consisted of a variety of different brochures, each one designed to fit along side a weekly sermon while highlighting the benefits of the newly designed space. In addition, we created commitment cards so congregation members could pledge their donations. Next, the church administrators planned an informational breakfast to educate the congregation on the plan to raise the roof and expand the building. We created Invitations and RSVP cards so that an invitation could be mailed to each family to invite them to the breakfast.
While this example may specifically illustrate how marketing for religious organizations can be used, there are many more ideas on how churches and other religious organizations can use marketing to help further community involvement. Whatever your goals are, you may be surprised how marketing can help your efforts. From creating enthusiasm in the community to spreading your message and increasing membership. No goal is out of reach. Even with a low budget, there are smart and affective ways to spend on marketing to make the biggest impact in your community. All it takes is a little faith.
